In order to own, care for, or ride a horse, it is imperative to educate yourself on horses in any way you can!

Whether it be books, magazines, websites or TV...a responsible horse owner is an educated horse owner!!  Horse ownership is a huge responsiblity and you owe it to your horse to give it what it needs to be healthy, happy and content.

It is easy to fall into someone else's bad advice or do a task just because "that is the only way you know".  Take the time to research horse issues rather than settling for lesser advice.  It may be more difficult and take time to do, but it wil save you time and grief (with less stress to your horse) in the long run.

Do not fall for advice that seems strange or unusual.....if it seems weird, it probably is, and will not work anyway.  I have heard of (and witnessed) many unusual things when it comes to horse owner's ways of doing things.  My advice to you is to do your homework and stay clear of anything that does not seem like the right thing to do, even if someone else is doing it.

My motto is, the best advice is from professionals, but most importantly, stick with what works!!!
